Old Sanibel - Art Print

The "Sanibel Island Light" otherwise known as the "Sanibel Lighthouse" is located on the eastern end of Sanibel Island, Florida. It was first lit on August 20th, 1884, with kerosene oil. To get to the top of the lighthouse, the lighthouse keeper had to walk up an external spiral staircase. The lighthouse became officially automated in 1949. The historic lighthouse was restored in 2013. This photo was taken on June 4th, 2013, before the lighthouse was repainted.
